The Avengers star shows women how to deal with the unwanted attentions of sleazy men.

In 1965, Honor Blackman was the last word in kick ass women. Yes, kids, the idea of the female action character is not the new invention that the Woke media might have you believe – even in the unreconstructed 1960s and 70s, there were women beating the living daylaights out of villainous men, and Honor Blackman was at the forefront of them, as Cathy Gale in The Avengers and Pussy Galore in Goldfinger. So who better to teach the women of Britain how to deal with molesters, muggers and other miscreants?

The 1965 publication Honor Blackman’s Book of Self Defence features the self defence moves that the actress learned at London’s Budokwai judo dojo while preparing for her role in The Avengers – no stand-ins for her! The book is full of handy moves to tackle the overly enthusiastic casanova and the sexual pervert, and although some of these moves might be easier said than done – at least for the untrained – there’s no harm in trying.

A top seller at the time, the book had several reprints but has been out of print for some time. In these days of mania, surely it is crying our for a new edition.
