Those of you in London – indeed, those of you anywhere else who fancy a cultural day out – should come along to the Dark Arts Fayre in Camden next Sunday, May 12th. From the people who brought you The Satanic Flea Market, this is a new event at a new venue – the Vanguard, which is by all accounts a bit of a bugger to find – but there is a handy map telling you how to get there, which you can see below.

Desperate Living will be there, with our usual stock of books, magazines, oddball collectables and – of course – our T-shirts that have been hugely popular at the Satanic Flea Market. This is the last run of our Baphomet Barbie shirts so if you want to see them in the flesh before buying, this is your chance. Here’s our unboxing video of the shirts that arrived this week, just in time.
There will also be the usual mix of artists, writers, fashionistas and oddball creatives – both running stalls and in the crowd. If you are in the market for the more unusual and esoteric gift options or the sort of books that you won’t find in the shops, this is the place to go.
There’s also a bar in the venue – which definitely helps, believe me; it is a long day and the Satanic Flea Market is often crammed to the point where it is hard to move, with queues stretching up the road. How this new event will compete remains to be seen – but we suggest arriving early and not dithering if you see anything you want.
We’ll be on stall 30, which is in the centre section of the main room, near the entrance. We look forward to seeing you there.
