Arthur Brown’s Zombie Yelp

A classic slice of retro Horror Rock from the legendary shock rocker.

You can’t keep an old God of Hellfire down, it seems. At the age of 78, the ever-eccentric Arthur Brown is back with a new single, the suitably Halloweenish Zombie Yelp. Recorded with Vanilla Fudge keyboardist Mark Stein and co-written and produced with Hawkwind veteran Alan Davey, the new track has the vibe of the classic 1960s horror novelty records, mixed with a psych-rock groove that makes the track immediately catchy.

There’s a fine tradition of groovy ghoulish rock ‘n’ roll that this fits right into, and it’s good to hear Brown in such fine fettle as he belts out the song. If Halloween is effectively cancelled this year, at least you can take solace by frugging away to this fine ditty during your Samhain Zoom party.
